Woman in Power- Maggie Gill

Women have for a long time now been considered not being involved in top leadership positions, but not anymore. They have been endless fighting for their rights and are holding national positions, and also being considered as excellent leaders. Women have also been holding positions in crucial industries including medical sector.

Maggie Gill is one of these women who have not shied from holding top positions especially in one of the significant sectors of medicine. Maggie Gill is an outstanding woman who has been very passionate about the medical industry since she was young. After his high school graduation she knew exactly what she wanted and she went ahead to pursue her education at Florida State University. At Florida State University Maggie Gill earned her Bachelor’s degree where she graduated with honors. She later joined Saint Leo University in Florida where she earned her MBA with honors. Maggie Gill is a scholar who has also completed courses in other fields including a course in Strategic thinking and management from Wharton School.

Maggie Gill was appointed as the Vice President of finance and management in 2004 by Memorial University Medical Center. Her hard work and efforts made her climb the career leader and in 2005 she became the Chief Operating Officer. Maggie Gill worked even harder and his efforts were recognized by the management and 2011 She was selected as the President and the Executive Chief Officer of Memorial Health. In her executive position, Dr. Maggie has been providing leadership for all senior vice president, vice presidents,and the physicians at Memorial University Medical Center. Maggie Gill is also responsible for government relations, internal audit, physicians relations, orthopedic, neuroscience program, trauma services, facility management, financial statement, and corporate communication.

Before joining Memorial University Medical Center, Maggie served at Tenet South Florida Health System as the Chief Financial Officer. While serving at the Institute, she portrayed positive leadership a character which offered her an opportunity to be honored three times as Tenet outstanding Chief Financial Officer. During the period she worked at Tenet she had an opportunity to work in various medical institutions including; Coral Cables Hospital in Coral Cables Florida, North Shore Medical Center, Miami,and Palmetto General Hospital in Hialeah. Maggie has been a leader in the medical industry, and was named by Becker’s Hospital Review as one of the of its 2016 135 Nonprofit Hospital and Health System Chief Executive Officers. She was also included on the Becker’s list of 130 women Hospital and Health System leaders.
