The future of everything is touch screens, kiosks, and jobs that people no longer will need due to being replaced by robots. However, it seems the McDonald’s restaurants is taking a huge turn towards the future in the way they operate their restaurants. According to an article found on reddit and written by Eater, McDonald’s is going towards using kiosks instead of people to take orders and gives the customer the full capability to customize it the way they want. You can pick what cheese you want, what kind of bun, and all of that just with the touch of a few buttons. As of right now there is only one of these situated in the big city of Los Angeles, but there are rumors of plans to set up over 20 more of them over the country. I think the cities that are next in line for this machine are bound to be the big places like New York City, Miami, Las Vegas, San Francisco, and so forth.
It will be an interesting thing that allows you to do this. And I am thinking that it will also eliminate the errors that we can experience from time to time, especially in the drive through. Those little requests that you ask of the serving staff are not so much a big deal but sometimes you just really don’t want something on your sandwich. In any case, this is pretty cool.
