How Yanni Hufnagel Became A Top College Assistant Basketball Coach

Yanni Hufnagel recently became an assistant men’s basketball coach at the University of Nevada. He is an experienced basketball coach and has several years of experience in this position. He is also the Managing Partner of IXC.VC which is a business in the greater New York City area. He took on this position in April of 2017. In his position at the University of Nevada, he works along side the head coach, Eric Musselman.

Before becoming an assistant basketball coach Yanni Hufnagel announced games for local teams on a public television station. He attended Cornell University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Labor Relations in 2006. While attending this university he worked a basketball manager. While still attending school he also worked for the New Jersey Nets NBA team as an intern. Once he had graduated from Cornell he joined the University of Oklahoma as a graduate assistant coach.

In 2009, the coach at Oklahoma recommended Yanni Hufnagel to the head coach at Harvard leading to him getting his first Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach position. He went on to also serve in this position at both Vanderbilt University as well as UC Berkeley. His years of experience has resulted in on-court success by the players he has coached. He has also developed into one of the top recruiters in college basketball and can sell his university’s program to up and coming talented players.

Yanni Hufnagel grew up in Scarsdale, New York. He played lacrosse for his high school team, the Scarsdale High School Raiders. He didn’t find as much on-court success at basketball as at lacrosse but the game became his first love when it came to sports. He set out to create a career as a coach in the game and learned everything he could about strategy and ball skills.
