The American Institute of Architects is an organization of professional architects who are currently practicing in the United States, and their headquarters can be found in Washington D.C. The organization was founded in 1857, and their objective is to educate the public about the profession and to develop areas that are in dire need of the architect’s help. He also joined the McGraw-Hill Construction Media where he was appointed to be the vice president and the editorial director. He was involved in a variety of publications, often reviewing them for release. Robert Ivy is also being invited in a variety of competitions, and one of the most notable events where he became a juror was during the National Dwight D. Eisenhower Memorial designing contest.

Because of his excellent track record in the world of architecture, Robert Ivy has received several awards. These include awards from him being an editor in chief, an architect, and an individual. Robert Ivy is proud of his achievements, and he aims to reform the profession of architecture in the United States.
