Gama’s Trajectory in the Advertising Sector
Alexandre Gama started his career in 1982 while in college at FAAP. His first job was at Standart Agency Ogilvy where he worked as the firm’s editor. In 1990, he got another job at DM9 Agency. During his four-year tenure at DM9, he was recognized as the best copywriter in Brazil. In 1996, he was appointed the senior VP of AlmaBBDO, an advertising agency founded by Joseph Machado in 1954. He also joined the Young & Rubicam as the chairperson and CEO.
In 1999, Alexandre Gama left Young & Rubicam and established his firm known as Neogama Agency. His company became popular across South America, and it was recognized for its excellence in service provision at the Cannes Film Festival held in France back in 2008. In 2012, Gama was called to serve on the Board of the Brazilian Association of Publicity Agencies. From 2004 to 2013, Gama served as the judge at the D&AD Global Creative Advertising &Design Festival. In 2014, he presented his advertising work at an art exhibition held in Brazil. Later that year, he was named partner of the Briggs Automotive Company, a leading firm located in Liverpool, UK. The company manufactures fancy sports cars.

In 2006, Gama was named one of the seven most influential professionals in advertising. The same year, he won the Agency Director of the Year Award. In 2007, he bagged the Cabore award for the best industry director of communication. In 2015, his company received a Gold Lion Award at the Cannes International Festival.
